dminder calculates vitamin D production using real-time NOAA satellite ozone measurements, solar position algorithms, erythemal dose integration, and personalized burn models developed with Dr. Michael Holick. Nobody gets wrong numbers because they didn't pay. Safety is not a premium feature. Every user gets the same accurate calculations. Period.
Users occasionally ask us this directly — so here’s the honest answer. D-Minder is a small team (not a VC-funded startup), and the app has two income streams:
A single banner at the bottom of the app, plus an occasional interstitial ad between sessions. Standard Google AdMob inventory, not tracking-based advertising by default.
Ads are what let us keep the core app free for everyone — the calculations, the safety warnings, the 90-day history, all of it. If you’d rather not see ads, Pro removes them (see below).
One-time or annual purchase that removes the ads, shows your whole history and turns on encrypted backup. The projection, lab results and export stay free.
